Blocktalk

“Blockchain cannot be described just as a revolution. It is a tsunami-like phenomenon, slowly advancing and gradually enveloping everything along its way by the force of its progression.” -William Mouyager, an expert researcher in Blockchain Technology. With over 120 participants, BlockTalk was a offline Blockchain event hosted by the MIT Cybersecurity and Blockchain club. The programme is best described as an introduction to Blockchain, It will assist all participants in learning everything there is to know about Blockchain and its various aspects.

Our distinguished dean, Prof. Rajneesh Kaur Sachdev, our acclaimed faculty coordinators, Profs. Nilesh Marathe and Kiran Bidua, as well as Prof. Rahul Sonkamble, our advisor for Blockchain, all attended the occasion. There were approximately 120 people from all four years present.

Our energetic speakers kept the audience engaged by presenting Blockchain to them through examples, show-and-tell, and a dash of comedy. The topics covered were -

As a team, we made certain that we could present all of the main themes of Blockchain while keeping it as exciting as possible in order to raise awareness about this emerging technology.

Crypto Giveaway

The Crypto Giveaway was the most enjoyable aspect of this event. When we introduced this part to the crowd, they erupted in applause. The giveaway provided us with a practical opportunity to demonstrate how cryptocurrency exchanges take place, and exhibiting a live transaction ensured that the audience will never forget how Blockchain operates behind cryptocurrency exchanges. We chose one lucky winner for the giveaway during the event, but we did not let the crowd down. The first hundred students who sent their Crypto IDs earned a little amount of cryptocurrency in Ethereum as well.

Speaker’s Thoughts

Shafin Shaikh : “The students were intrigued during our presentation as the subject "Blockchain" was relatively new to them. After the question and answer session, we cleared all of their fundamental doubts and we realized that they had learned the basics of blockchain properly. After the session, students came to us to appreciate the session and told us they had learned something new today and that they were interested in exploring Blockchain further.”

Fuzail Kazi: “Today I took a seminar on Blockchain. It was really interactive , had a very enthusiastic audience. It felt nice answering doubts and guiding them to this new bleeding edge technology. I talked about Dapps, DeFi, Smart Contracts & gave a roadmap to become a Blockchain Developer. I would like to thank Dr. Nilesh Marathe Kiran Bidua Dr. Shraddha Phansalkar for the opportunity and allowing me to share my knowledge.”

A Secret Surprise

We didn't want our audience to be disappointed at any cost, so we arranged a mini-concert for them. The audience was pleased to hear the lovely vocals of Miss Mudra Bansal and Miss Payal Gandhi from the School of Fine Arts. It was a joy to watch everyone's cheerful smiles as they sang along to some of their favourite tunes.

Feedback

The audience gave us overwhelmingly positive remarks. They stated how the Crypto Giveaway was a unique method to explain the Blockchain technology that supports cryptocurrencies. They also considered the information to be very helpful and stated that this event gave them the confidence to understand what Blockchain truly is. Many indicated an interest in joining the club and pledged to attend all future events.

Conclusion

Overall, this event was a huge success. It has given our team new vitality and eagerness to continue discussing new ideas for future events. We gave ourselves a pat on the back for ensuring that our audience was now prepared with this disruptive technology, Blockchain. Onto bigger and better events now.
